  • Contact your local builders association (HBA).
  • Check your local newspaper.
  • Use your own network of people.
  • Some builders can provide lists of homeowners that would be willing to speak with you about their experience.
  • Shop around and look at as many new homes as possible.
  • Be sure to inquire about a warranty.
  • Make sure you ask your potential builder plenty of questions
